A COMPLETE MAKEOVER PLUS A NEW LEVEL FOR THIS DUPLEX ON THE PLATEAU
This former metal workshop boasted a huge loft space in the back of the groundfloor. The construction took place over two phases. The first one, conducted in 2014, allowed us to completely overhaul the ground floor which now hosts the new kitchen, the living room and the dining room. This open area enjoys a radiant heating system embedded in concrete. Relocated next to the kitchen, the staircase as though it had been carved out of solid birch, leads us to a dramatic black steel monolith. As soon as Phase 1 was completed, we submitted the expansion plan to the CCU (Planning Advisory Committee) of the Plateau Mont-Royal. Almost two years later, the second floor now features three guest bedrooms with private bathrooms plus the master suite which is now suited with an office, a shower room, a make-up vanity dresser, an Italian shower for two persons, a large walk-in and, to top it all, a concealed mini-bar. The walk-in is overhung by a huge 8’ x 8’ skylight with automatic closing.
